Billet Families Needed for Grads.

Host families are needed to billet players of the Cumberland Grads Junior "A" Hockey Club. The Grads have an urgent need for families with spare room in their homes to billet a player for the upcoming season. The players have strict rules to follow while staying with their billet familes and are generally either in school or at the rink - which is five days per week. As well, keep in mind that the Grads compensates the family on a weekly basis for billeting the player. Please call the Grads hockey office at 613-835-4297 for further details.

Helping Out

Minor Hockey is very dependant on a large volunteer base. Volunteers can assist in a variety of capacities.

Each team requires its' own set of volunteers:

  • Coach
  • Team Manager
  • Assistant Coaches
  • Trainer

Each of these volunteers are also required to attend various clinics administered by the Ottawa District Hockey Association (ODHA). The CMHA covers the total cost of these programs. Our courses are listed at http://training.cumberlandminorhockey.ca

In addition to the above, many teams also divide up the Team Manager duties and have individuals in the following roles:

  • Treasurer
  • Tournament co-ordinator
  • Social Director
  • Fundraising co-ordinator
