Billet Families Needed for Grads.

Host families are needed to billet players of the Cumberland Grads Junior "A" Hockey Club. The Grads have an urgent need for families with spare room in their homes to billet a player for the upcoming season. The players have strict rules to follow while staying with their billet familes and are generally either in school or at the rink - which is five days per week. As well, keep in mind that the Grads compensates the family on a weekly basis for billeting the player. Please call the Grads hockey office at 613-835-4297 for further details.

Never Played Hockey Before?

If you child has never played organized hockey before, then they would register in our recreational House League association, the CMHA .

In September, House League players are evaluated during a series of on-ice sessions.

Novice, Atom and Peewee Divisions are tiered into A, B and C levels (i.e. Novice A, Novice B and Novice C). Bantam and Midget Divisions are tiered into A and B levels. Similar evaluations are also done at the IP level.

Your child will be evaluated on the ice and based on their ability, placed into one of these three A,B,C levels. This is done to group kids with the same skill level together. "A" level is for players with advanced hockey skills while "C" is for players who are just starting to learn or need improvement in certain hockey skills. "B" level is for players in between.

For example, if your 12 year old decided to start playing hockey this year, he would be probably be playing on one of our Peewee "C" level teams with other kids that are also learning basic hockey skills.
